In 2018 the Chicago Cubs signed Yo Darvish to a 6 year, $126 million contract. As done after Darvish performed poorly in the playoffs for the Dodgers in 2017. Injuries restricted him to 8 games in 2018 with 1 win. He returned to full time in his second year but finished with only 6 wins. In the third year he appeared in only 12 games, winning 8.
After three sub par seasons he was traded to the Padres. However, his performance was still way below expectation. He won 8 games with a 4.22 ERA. Now the Padres have two years left to pay on the contract.
