Ender Inciarte signed a 5 year $30 million contract before the 2017 season. He was an excellent defensive outfielder, good base stealer, and great lead off batter. In 2017, he was the only Atlanta Brave player on the All Star team. His first season was just what the Braves expected. He batted .304 with 22 stolen bases. Then the drop off started. In the second season his average dropped to .264.
Starting in his third season injuries limited his appearances and then permanently affected his production. He batted .246, .190 and .215 in his last three seasons. The Braves ended up releasing him in July of his fifth season under contract. Although paid for 5 seasons, Ender Inciarte contributed only one good season for the Braves.
